A Distant Destination
Evesham Arts Centre - 7th June - 2nd September 2013
A Distant Destination is a piece created about Evesham specifically for this show at Evesham Arts Centre. In a departure from my previous practice this exhibition focuses on local architecture, in particular the landmarks of Evesham, although the themes of Modernist Architecture and the concept of Utopia still remain an underlying essence throughout all my work. Using the mediums of collage, print and graphite key buildings are deconstructed and re-imaged to form a visionary landscape that is altogether a different destination to the town as you might know it. The final exhibition consists of 4 large scale interconnecting drawings and is the culmination of 6 months of work. A Distant Destination is a modern take on our historical town and aims to celebrate the local community through looking at the landmarks that lie at the foundations of its identity.
